The 100% open housing concept creates an unrestricted airflow that effectively avoids internal resonances. Every diaphragm excursion of the 45 mm driver is converted directly into sound - without sound-colouring optimization through acoustic chambers. The result is an authentic listening experience with precise transient response, optimum channel separation and minimal distortion.

Weighing just 199 grams (without cable), the ATH-R70xa is one of the lightest professional reference headphones in its class. A newly developed, metal-reinforced headband and replaceable & breathable velour ear pads ensure maximum wearing comfort - even during long studio sessions.

Each pair of headphones is handcrafted at Audio-Technica's factory in Machida, Tokyo, using components developed in-house and rigorously tested before delivery. This guarantees not only excellent sound quality, but also remarkable durability.

The detachable cable system is connected at both ends and is equipped with lockable connectors to ensure a secure connection. The scope of delivery includes a 3.0 m cable with gold-plated 3.5 mm stereo plug, a 6.35 mm adapter and a carrying bag.
