This model is based on the Rio Dream Bass, which was produced in a limited run of 82 units worldwide, but with modified specifications and color, it has been added to the Ready To Play series artist model catalog.

The wood construction is a new combination that differs from the previous CC series and NG series, and features a Nyatoh (Natoh) body, maple neck, maple fingerboard with a "Rio Eye" inlay at the 12th fret, and a newly developed integrated bridge called "Minimalist."

The pickups are three FD3n neodymium magnets, providing a variety of sounds reminiscent of J, P, and MM types.
The Neve onboard preamp, a distinctive feature of this unit, was developed during the development of the John Taylor model, a first for Neve, as a result of the company's connection with Duran Duran, who used a Neve console when recording their album.
