Limited to 1000 units worldwide, the birthday series instrument is based on the popular McCarty 594 design with a balanced 24.594" scale and combines classic S2 series features with some exclusive appointments available exclusively as part of the Limited run. These include an exquisite wood selection, classy visual highlights such as the "S2 10th Anniversary" truss rod cover, which refers to the series' milestone birthday. While the body of the PRS 10th Anniversary S2 McCarty 594 Eriza Verde follows the traditional specifications of the S2 series and is composed of a solid piece of mahogany with a strong maple top, high-quality Cuban mahogany is used for the neck, which contributes to the amazingly warm and resonant sound of the instrument. The Pattern Vintage profile provides the right thumb rest for proven PRS feeling in all positions, and precise bending and controlled playing on the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl Bird inlays.

As a special sonic highlight, the limited birthday run of the S2 McCarty 594 presents two U.S.-made PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers ready in neck and bridge positions. The "low turns" versions of the popular 58/15 humbuckers represent classic PAF character with reduced winding count, and excel with stunning clarity and vocal character. Thanks to proven 3-way switching and separate push/pull coil splits of the two tone controls, a total of eight different sound combinations are available, and guaranteed to give every musical thought the appropriate expression.
