About this listing
For sale is a player-ready Yamaha YBS-52 intermediate baritone saxophone with the low A extension. Made in Japan, the YBS-52 is widely recognized as the industry standard workhorse bari—favored by high school and college programs, community big bands, and doubling pros for its bulletproof keywork, fast action, and dependable intonation.I just recently had it overhauled and it is in fantastic playing condition. I just don't play baritone saxophone enough to justify keeping it around. My loss is your gain! This would make a fantastic early Christmas present for the saxophonist in your life!Condition & Mechanical Overview:Playability & Pads: Fully functional and plays cleanly through the entire register down to low Bb and low A. Pads are in good condition with clean leather and plastic dome resonators; key action is responsive with snappy spring tension. Spatula table rollers (low Bb, B, C#, G#) are intact and transition smoothly.\Structural Integrity: The horn is structurally solid where it matters most. The upper curly bow/pigtail tubing is round with no crushing, pull-downs, or crease repairs. The bell flare and rim are round without rolling or flattening damage.\Cosmetics: Honest, heavy cosmetic finish wear and patina throughout, typical of vintage school/band workhorses. Extensive lacquer crazing, scratching, and lacquer loss along the body tube, bell, neck, and upper loop. Purely aesthetic wear that does not affect airflow, resonance, or pad sealing.\Neck: Original Yamaha neck included. Good tenon fit with secure receiver clamping and intact cork. Shows heavy surface finish spotting matching the horn's vintage look. What Is Included:Yamaha YBS-52 Baritone Saxophone\Original Yamaha Wood-Shell Hard Case (Clean, deep-red plush interior with secure center latch and hardware)\Yamaha 5C Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece + vintage brass ligature & cap\Neotech Padded Sax Harness / Shoulder Strap\D'Addario Royal 3.0 Baritone Saxophone Reeds (unopened box) Pricing & Terms\
