This is a killer example of Gibson’s earliest attempt to make proper Les Paul Std. model as they started making better guitars across the board. Its 2-tone Dark Sunburst finished body has a very unusual Flamey Maple Top in fabulous shape. It’s got a ‘bursted maple neck, back & sides of the body also have a lovely very figured grain pattern. She’s sporting 2 Pat.# stamped “Tim Shaw” pickups both dated to 1979, original pots w/a nice pickgard, Nashville tun-a-matic bridge & stop tailpiece. Its Kluson Tuners hold tune well. At this time Gibson was bitched at thru the 70’s for using 2 piece sandwiched bodies, but this one having an early solid 1 piece mahogany body. This is a gorgeous 47 year old Std. w/killer sounding pickups…so rare & so cool ! She’s truly excellent & comes w/a nice chainsaw hard case.
