Vintage Bontempi Memoplay – Early Educational Electronic Organ – with original printed Manual – Good Condition!

We are selling this vintage Bontempi Memoplay, an early educational keyboard designed to help children and beginners learn music through memory-based playback functions. Manufactured in Italy in the early 1980s, this charming solid-state electronic organ was part of Bontempi’s effort to merge fun with musical education.

With 25 keys covering two full octaves (C to C), the Memoplay features a "teaching brain" that allows users to record and playback short melodies, supporting musical learning through repetition and experimentation. Designed for children, the unit also includes four colorful buttons for tone and rhythm selection, as well as dedicated playback, stop, and memory recall buttons.

The unit operates on 4 x 1.5V R20 (D-cell) batteries and includes the original printed manual. The memory functionality enables the user to recall and replay their previous melody – a rare and innovative feature for a toy keyboard from this era.

Condition and functionality:

This Bontempi Memoplay is in good condition for its age with some cosmetical traces of use. The unit has been carefully tested and is fully functional, including the memory and playback features. Please note: the plastic cap of the on/off switch is missing (see photos), however the switch works perfectly without any issues. The user instruction manual is also included, adding to its collector value.

A very simple keyboard which would be great for circuit bending. It's still completely original and untouched. Condition is good with some cosmetical traces of use: as reported above, the plastic cap of the on/off switch is missing, but the switch itself is in place and can be used without the cap. Battery compartment is clean!
