TEISCO FB-2 VINTAGE MIJ SCROLL HEAD VIOLIN BASS *RARE* w/HSC

Rare all-original Japanese violin bass from the 1960's. These were only made for a couple of years after the Teisco brand was taken over by Kawai in 1967.

The sound of these is so distinctive they simply ooze the period. The brand new black tape wound strings also enhance the vintage vibe.

It plays very well and has a good action across the fretboard.

The neck and scroll head are in great condition. All-original hardware, tuners, controls, pickups and electrics work as they should. The frets still have miles of road ahead.

This one even has the often-absent original scratch plate and chrome finger rest.

The original sunburst finish is good throughout with no damage or repairs to the body.

A small area of the binding to the waist is separating but this has no impact on structure or sound. There is also touched-in chip to the body top side. Cosmetic condition is otherwise excellent.

Finally, it also comes with a decent vintage hard case. This is possibly original but since the interiors of these old 60s cases were rarely fitted, extra padding is recommended for bass (and owner) to feel secure. We will include this when shipping.

Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.

The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.

For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.
