The Sam Ash Fuzzz Boxx is a classic fuzz pedal that was introduced in 1967 as the Astrotone. The Astrotone was used by Tommy Bolin, Leslie West, and Gene Cornish. In 1968, it was rebranded as the Fuzzz Boxx . The Fuzzz Boxx uses silicon transistors and silicon diodes for clipping.
The Fuzzz Boxx was one of the earliest fuzz pedals to feature a tone control. There is a power supply stabilization cap that is not found in the original. So can be used with any 9V PSU (needs to be fist is pedal chain)
Silicon NPN transistor construction (cab be battery powered and needs to be first in signal chain) / handbuild (vintage eyelet board construction) , using best possible hard to find vintage transistors and components.
