MINI P90 Mk II - Handmade Strat sized Neodymium Pickup for Bridge position.

Handmade pickup for bridge position, suitable for direct replacement of Strat sized pickups, with no need for any adaptation. It is particularly dedicated to those who love the typical tone of the P90 but are not willing to adapt the body of their guitar and / or to accept the aesthetic change.

The coil (which has physical characteristics identical to those of the P90, except for his lateral extension) was wound by guiding the wire by hand. Unlike the MINI P90 Mk I and HALF DOLLAR models, the MINI P90 Mk IIs are wound using AWG44 wire instead of AWG42.

 This means that since the copper wire is thinner (0.050 mm instead of 0.063 mm), a greater number of turns can be wound on the same type of coil used for the MINI P90s. Consequently, thanks also to a powerful neodymium magnetic system, the output level boasted by this pickup is unknown to the vast majority of other existing single coils, including P90 in standard format (especially if equipped with AlNiCo magnets). Output levels aside, compared to the MINI P90 Mk I, voicing is characterized by a greater emphasis on medium-low frequencies, due to the resonance peak of the coil characterized, in fact, by a greater number of turns.

The Rs of this pickup is 12.6 Kohm (measured at an ambient temperature of 26 ° C).

Pole spacing: 52 mm.

 MINI P90 Mk II are also available for the middle position (Rs = 11.8 Kohm) and for the neck position (Rs = 11.4 Kohm) and each pickup can also be requested in black or cream. The pickup for the middle position is RWRP compared to the others.

The waxing was carried out in a mixture of paraffin and beeswax (3: 1 w / w), to ensure immunity against any unwanted squeal, maintained over time.

The connection cable is shielded. The bare in this pickup has the sole function of shielding the red and white wires from electromagnetic disturbances. The red wire is normally taken as positive and therefore connected to the five-way selector, while the white wire is normally taken as negative and therefore connected to ground together with the bare. If necessary, i.e. if there is an electrical out-of-phase between the MINI P90 and the other closest pickup on the guitar (i.e. the middle one, being a Strat), it is possible to invert the wiring of the red and white wires, to solve the problem.

The entire MINI P90 Mk II set can also be requested already installed on a pre-wired pickguard, at a total price of 289 euros + shipping costs.

This pickup has been tested and comes complete with mounting screws and springs.
