The original Friedman PT has long been a top-selling tube combo, delivering the sound of a 100-watt, EL34-powered monster in a pint-size, 20-watt, EL84-fueled package. The PT V2 exhibits the same fire-breathing sound as its predecessor but with a larger speaker and greater sonic flexibility. This guitar amplifier produces the full gamut of tones, from classic rock chime to hard rock crunch to heavy metal thunder. You get a 3-band EQ for dialing in your basic tone, along with a Fat switch for thicker textures and a Sat switch for heavier saturation. You also get a 3-position S switch for absolute control over the PT V2's gain structure. This 1-channel dynamo includes a Celestion G12M Creamback speaker for a distinctive British-flavored character and an ultra-transparent effects loop for easy integration with your pedals and outboard effects. Musicians searching for a versatile single-channel tube amp will find everything they're looking for in the Friedman PT V2 — and then some.

All the tones in a single-channel amp

Players looking for a single-channel tube amp that does it all will be mightily pleased by the PT V2. This tube combo tackles blues, classic rock, and metal with equal aplomb. All you need to do is adjust the amp's gain, and every tone imaginable will be at your fingertips. Want classic rock crunch? Lower the PT V2's gain, bring up the master volume, and kick in the Fat switch for a nice, thick growl. Aiming for heavy metal chug? Increase the amp's gain and kick in the Sat switch for an aggressive, saturated sound. You also get a 3-position S switch, which tailors the overall gain structure of the amplifier to your individual tastes. A flexible 3-band EQ is also on tap.

Loaded with a Celestion G12M Creamback speaker

The PT V2 is ready to rumble, courtesy of a 12-inch Celestion G12M Creamback speaker. This speaker captures the iconic sound of Celestion's '60s and '70s models, yielding a meaty tone replete with complex, full-bodied character, creamy mids, and vintage-tinged highs. Beyond that, this speaker's low-end thump is second to none. By virtue of its Celestion G12M Creamback speaker, the PT V2 epitomizes the best elements of classic, British-flavored guitar tones.
