Now available on consignment, a 2020 Gretsch Custom Shop Stephen Stern ‘59 White Penguin.
This is another deluxe offering from the Gretsch Custom Shop, depicting a late 50s style single cut 'White Penguin' with gold sparkle binding, a pair of Filtertron humbuckers, and a Bigsby B6. Other specifications include a TruArc bridge, wing motif inlaid pearl markers, Ebony fingerboard, Grover Imperial tuners, and a gold-plated arm rest.
Finished in an aged white, turning cream, with plenty of lacquer checking, this Gretsch certainly looks the part, and unlike the elder equivalents, won’t cost a kidney or three. As well as this, the quality control of these instruments are impeccable, as is the fit and finish.
This particular guitar plays comfortably, with a wide, solid neck offering plenty of space to move around. The guitar has had no changes, and it’s seen little use looking at the frets and fingerboard.
Freshly set up and strung with 10-46 strings, includes its original case, COA, and case candy.
