Serial numbers are #4097 and #6537. The gap between these numbers suggests the two units were produced at different points in Pultec's production run rather than as a factory-matched pair — but both have been used and sound together as a pair without issue.

Introduced in 1956, the EQH-2 was Pultec's compact alternative to the 3U EQP-1/EQP-1A — sharing the same beloved low-frequency boost/attenuate curves, with a comparable high-frequency peak boost section (fixed bandwidth, fixed 10kHz attenuation point). It uses the same minimalist Class A tube output stage found in the Pultec MEQ-5, and many engineers consider it more transparent-sounding than the larger EQP-1A.
