Through a collaboration with ROCKET SHELLS, a US company renowned worldwide for its carbon shell drums, we have created a snare drum that delivers a more aggressive drum sound. Made using high-density carbon fiber and epoxy resin used in the aerospace industry, carbon fiber, due to its properties, does not absorb vibrational energy and has excellent sound transmission capabilities. Therefore, it achieves a superb projection, a powerful attack, and long sustain, similar to the characteristics of hard wood. In addition, the shell structure, which can be described as an internal reinforcement (*1), produces a rich midrange even within the hard sound.
This shell features Canopus's unique edge processing, resulting in a comfortable, resonant sound with excellent projection and a wide tuning range—unprecedented in previous carbon shells.
