Small German effects brand JPTR FX has been building and releasing unique, handmade stompboxes since early 2015. Run by Chris Jptr, the stated goal for the company is "to make your wildest dreams come true," by constructing sonically odd and delightful circuits from the best parts, while keeping prices moderate.
Today, Andy is digging into the brand's cornerstone effect, the Fernweh Multi Echo Module. This is a dual delay pedal, featuring two stacked delays with separate controls making for a dynamic range of textures. In addition to dialing in each delay's tone, you can also configure different time settings for each, which often results in lush, reverb-like rhythmic patterns.
Catering to the crowd that loves the signature spacey, ethereal nature of JPTR FX pedals, the Fernweh features a "Momentary Swell Switch" for infinite self-oscillation and another switch for warping between time settings. The stompbox even features dual expression inputs for both feedback and delay time, giving players the ability to take full advantage of its stacked feature list.
