Mesa’s DC-5 is a versatile and underrated 50-watt combo amp from the Dual Caliber series, produced in the 1990s and designed to offer both sparkling clean tones and thick, saturated distortion. This two-channel amp features independent EQ controls, built-in spring reverb, and a 5-band graphic EQ section for detailed tone shaping.
The clean channel delivers warm, articulate tones with plenty of headroom, making it a favorite for jazz, blues, and pedal-based players. The lead channel has classic Mesa-style gain—rich, chunky, and full-bodied—ideal for rock and modern tones. Many players find it responds best when turned up loud, but it also pairs well with mid-gain overdrive pedals to tighten the low end and enhance clarity at lower volumes.
This amp is in very good condition for its age and fully functional. Some cosmetic wear from regular use (see photos). A great value for a USA-made tube combo with classic Mesa tone.
