Gordon Smith GS-1000 Postbox Red Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Gordon Smith GS-1000 Electric Guitar in Postbox Red finish. Made in the United Kingdom, this guitar consists of a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include binding on the body and neck, a matching Postbox Red headstock, a Gotoh 510 bridge, Gordon Smith Chrome Sealed tuners, and a single Gordon Smith humbucking pickup. This pickup is wired to a master volume (push/pull coil-split), and a master tone control. 

The satin-finished Mahogany neck plays very well, with a moderately sized profile that might be described as a Thick 'D' shape. Certainly, the neck is very comfortable to play, promoting ergonomic thumb positioning and articulate playing in all registers. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 14" radius is highly practical for a wide range of styles and playing techniques. The double cutaway body design and thicker body profile enhance access to the upper register, meaning you can make full use of all 22 frets. 

The single humbucker pickup installed in this guitar delivers a raw and throaty tone, with a warm low end and driving midrange that is complimented well by crisp and cutting highs. When turning the tone control down the pickup produces a roundness not dissimilar to a neck pickup which is perfect for solo tones, whilst adjusting the tone control up the brightness of the pickup will put your rhythm playing front and centre in the mix. The pickup is fantastic for pushing the front end of an amplifier, whilst offering excellent dynamic control. The simple control layout is not intrusive to the playing experience and offers comprehensive control of your tone. The push/pull coil split feature allows the player to access single-coil tones making this guitar a well rounded instrument, covering a lot of tonal possibilities.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. The top edge demonstrates light scuff marks to the rear face edge.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. Any markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern.

Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching throughout, only visible under direct light at certain angles. Light scuff marks are apparent on the treble side edge of the rear face, near the waist/lower bout, that could not be removed during our cleaning process. A similar smaller mark is apparent near the input jack.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (spoke wheel) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Light scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the bridge, pickup cover and tuners.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Gordon Smith Hard Case

Fully functional and very good condition. The outer shell demonstrates very light scuff marks and signs of previous use. Any flaws to the inner lining are difficult to discern.
