Faith FX Neptune FNCE-DNG Cutaway Deep Natural Gold 2020 Electro-Acoustic

Here for sale we have a Faith FX Neptune Cutaway Electro in Deep Natural Gold finish. Designed by Patrick James Eggle, this guitar was made in Indonesia in 2020 and features an all-solid construction comprising Mango top, back & sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Macassar Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in Solid Flamed Maple, whilst the top is adorned with a handsome Abalone rosette. This guitar is fitted with Chrome Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, compensated TUSQ saddle and a TUSQ nut. An undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to a Fishman INK3 preamp with master volume, bass, middle and treble controls as well as an on-board tuner. 

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with what might be described as a moderately-sized rounded 'C' profile that fills the hand nicely without feeling cumbersome. The worn-in Gloss finish to the rear of this particular neck provides a sense of familiarity to the playing experience which is really quite inspiring in the hands. The Macassar Ebony fingerboard is supremely pleasant under the fingers and provides a durable yet luxurious playing surface. The 16" radius is practical for chords, fingerstyle and melodic playing techniques, whilst the cutaway enhances access to the upper frets, really opening up the full register of the instrument. 

The Faith Neptune is based on Patrick James Eggle's 'Saluda' body shape, which is close in size and shape to a baby jumbo. This means that there is plenty of power and depth to the tone whilst retaining a comfortable and manageable playing position. The Mango used in this instrument's construction delivers a warm and balanced tone, not dissimilar to Mahogany, but with a Rosewood-esque sparkle in the top end. The top projects well and provides a wide and sensitive dynamic range with no loss of clarity at higher volumes. It's easy to see why this guitar has been so well reviewed since its release.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light to mild scratching and indentation. Most notably scratching to the front face and consistent indentation to the front face edges, as well as near the Faith logo. Further consistent indentations are present to the top edge.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates light indentations throughout, most concentrated in the early register. These are very lightly felt under the thumb in the playing position. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has worn to a light gloss consistent with playwear. 

Body: Overall good condition. A mild chip to the front face is present at the bass side of the bridge where the wood has been lightly exposed. Light to mild scratching and indentation is consistent across all aspects of the body, in places causing a hazing of the finish such as the centre of the rear face and the front face at the treble side waist. A scuff mark is present at the rear binding to the bass side lower bout. The treble side lower bout sides demonstrate consistent scratching and scuff marks. A notable scratch is apparent to the treble side at the cutaway.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and excellent condition.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.75mm - Bass 2.25mm
