1979 Aria Pro II Early Model TS600 in Walnut!
We have received an early 1979 Aria Pro II TS600.
In 1978, the original design models (Proto Type Line) of the Aria Pro II brand were introduced. The following year, in 1979, the TS Series (Tri Sound Series) was added to the lineup as a new product. This particular instrument is a 1979 TS600.
Featuring a 24-fret through-neck body covering two octaves, along with a booster, a 6-position rotary switch, a phase switch, and coil tap switches for each pickup, the control system allows for the creation of over 30 different sounds. It was introduced as a hot series geared toward players looking to establish their own original sound.
Controls (listed from top to bottom...)
(1) Master Volume
(2) Pickup selector switch
(3) 6-position rotary switch
(4) Booster On/Off Switch
(5) Booster Volume
(6) Neck Pickup Coil Tap Switch
(7) Bridge Pickup Coil Tap Switch
(8) Phase Switch
(9) Master Tone
The pickups are in original condition and feature the original Aria Pro II EXTRA-II zebra-striped finish.
Furthermore, there are no signs of unusual soldering work on the controls, so it appears to be a fully original, solder-virgin instrument.
Although the body is made of SEN WOOD, it tends to be lightweight despite its 5-piece through-neck construction of maple and walnut.
Overall Condition
As this instrument is 47 years old, it shows various scratches and wear on the wood and finish typical of its age.
Additionally, while there is some torque degradation in the Kluson Type 6 line tuners (nut-mounted style) and some warping in the button shaft of the first-string tuner, there is no critical damage, and the controls function well.
Considering its age, this is a rare specimen that remains clean and in good playing condition.
