Here for sale we have a PJD Guitars Carey Standard Electric Guitar in Candy Floss Pink. PJD guitars was founded in 2010 by Leigh Dovey, the son of a prop maker for the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Using the woodworking skills learned from his father as well as the inherited tools & small home workshop, Leigh has forged a new boutique guitar company which has been making waves in the community for many years now. With craftsmanship and quality of materials at the centre of PJD's ethos, Leigh's interesting and exciting designs have found their way into the hands of today's most innovative contemporary players, from Blur's Graham Coxon to Lee Malia of Bring Me The Horizon & many others between.
This guitar features a bolt-on construction consisting of a Mahogany body, Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include sculpted neck heel, vintage-style tuning machines and 6-bridge saddle. After-market pickups have been fitted. A Bare knuckle P90 has been fitted in the neck position whilst a Bare Knuckle humbucking pickup is fitted in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way pickup selector as well as controls for volume and tone.
The Gloss Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the PJD Standard neck profile feels incredibly ergonomic, allowing for great thumb placement all across the neck, whilst the Nitrocellulose finish provides effortless transitions. The Maple fingerboard provides a robust playing experience that feels rock solid under the fingers, whilst enhancing string bending and vibrato techniques at speed. The 10” Radius provides an even and balanced feel across the strings, aiding in even tension across the string and up and down register. The single-cutaway body design provides the player with unobstructed access to the higher frets, whilst the light weight aids with comfort in both standing and seating positions.
The Bare Knuckle Humbucker bridge pickup provides a fat and punchy humbucker-like sound, making power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle position provides bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The P90 neck pickup offers a smooth, warm, rounded tone that handles distorted tones as well as it handles clean tones. The control layout on the guitar also allows the player to dial in their own sound easier with the simplistic layout, offering a variety of tones all at the fingertips.
