MB-2 5 String Koa Fretless Bass. Rare 5 String fretless bass. This fine instrument features an alder body with an aged curly koa top (from lumber seasoned 50+ years- perfect for instrument making) and faux tortoiseshell binding. The 35" scale birdseye maple neck features an unlined ebony fingerboard with side dots. The combination of the alder body, 35” scale length, and the unlined f.b. give this bass an authoritative punchy sound, while still being very warm. A deluxe quality form fit hardshell case (made locally in Los Angeles by G&G) is included.
This bass has been thoroughly babied by my father, it‘s only owner. Gigged sparingly with some small amount of players wear found in the fretboard, it has been kept in a case for arguably too long. Works perfectly, plays perfectly, the true bridge between upright and fretless.
