Yamaha NTX500 Gloss Natural 2019 Electro-Classical Guitar

Made in China in 2019, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Spruce top, Laminated Nato back & sides, Nato neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. A Urea saddle & nut are fitted, along with a set of Chrome tuners with amber buttons. A Yamaha A.R.T. (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to an on-board preamp with controls for master volume, 3-band EQ, mid frequency slider & on-board tuner. 

The Nato neck plays very well, with the Slim profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial but not at all cumbersome playing experience across the register. Yamaha's NTX series is aimed at the acoustic player looking for an introduction to the classical guitar, and features a blend of acoustic & classical specifications. These include the 15.75" fingerboard radius - rather flat but not completely flat as is typical for classical instruments. The nut is fairly wide at 1.89", but is narrower than the typical 2.0"+ that we find on most classical instrument. The addition of a cutaway enhances access to the upper frets, as well as echoing the look of Yamaha's popular APX series acoustics. 

The acoustic voice of the Yamaha NTX500 is open & clear, and sounds nicely balanced across the frequency range. The Laminated Spruce top projects well, and produces a wide dynamic range. The Yamaha A.R.T. undersaddle piezo faithfully conveys the acoustic voice of the instrument in both live & recording situations, making this a very versatile guitar. The on-board preamp offers comprehensive control of your sound without over-complicating things. A typically well made instrument from Yamaha that's sure to whet your classical appetite.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top corners of the headstock demonstrate light indentation, piercing the finish slightly on the bass side.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard.

Body: Overall very good condition, the rear face demonstrates moderate scratching to the lower bout, piercing the finish slightly. All aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate minimal signs of use.
