Gherson Les Paul V2 Guitar (Italy, 1979)! Custom Black Edition! Super rare! Read the full ad!

We are selling this super rare Gherson LP-style guitar, model V2, custom black edition, made in Italy between 1979 and 1981.

Gherson was a label by Italian luthier Alfredo Menghini, based in Recanati, Italy. Alfredo Menghini produced guitars from 1968 to 1983 under the brands Wonder, Daytime, and GHERSON.

Gherson stood out for its copies of the most popular American models, including the very common “devil” SG-style replicas, as well as double-neck versions inspired by Jimmy Page. Alfredo Menghini was also one of the few builders to manufacture his own pickups and electronics in-house.

CONDITION:  This Gherson V2 in the custom black version is quite rare. It works perfectly and the action is still very comfortable.

There are a few things to note: some of the knobs are a bit noisy when turned (the contacts likely need cleaning), but they all function correctly. The pickups sound excellent; however, two of the pickup plastic rings and pickguard have a crack/break that does not affect the sound or functionality (please, check the photos).

There is a small scratch on the body along with some other light signs of wear, but it’s in very good cosmetical condition for its age!

The last thing to mention is that one tuner was installed a bit “crooked” by the previous owner (we’re not sure why), but it also works properly (please, check the photos).

Overall, the guitar is fully functional, with a wonderful sound and great sustain. The action is very comfortable, but the instrument does show these cosmetic “flaws”, clearly visible in the photos, which do not affect its performance. Real vintage gem: grab a bargain!

The 2 pickups are really cool: they sound very loud, but clear and brilliant, ideal for twang and surf sounds, but also funk and everything else that needs twang. They are crips, transparent and simply awesome. Numerous sounds are possible.
