'The' Aria Pro II SB-700 bass from 1978 produced at the legendary Matsumoku plant.

By now a true vintage classic. This comes with the original hard case.

If you ever wanted to see Japanese woodworking and craftsmanship at its sublime best, this is where to look.

Condition-wise...

In super shape and all original. The finish on these is a delight and this one has been very well looked after.

The head and neck are immaculate. Only minimal fret wear.

There are just a few tiny flaws worthy of note: a touch-in to the top body edge and some fairly typical minor lacquer wear to the fretboard edges. (See photos)

These don't affect performance in any way but they are the only reason for us not describing the condition as excellent.

Original brass hardware, Aria MB pickup, tuners & controls. Everything functions exactly as it should and the passive electrics are crackle-free.

As with all Aria through-necks this bass is extraordinarily well balanced. The neck and fretboard are as true as it gets with a low, fast action and spot-on intonation. The sustain on these basses really is something to behold.

In Summary...

Easy to see why owners of these early Matsumoku models tend to hang on to them. Extraordinary 'no compromise' build quality has turned these into modern classics.

This SB-700 looks great, plays beautifully and sounds superb.

Comes with the original Aria hard case.

The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.
