Power, dynamics, beauty and value are the best words to describe Gretsch’s 6.5x14” Stave Snare Drums. Each 6.5x14” maple and 6.5x14” walnut shell have their own feel, sound, and attractive price that distinguish themselves from other Stave drums.

The maple stave has a classic maple sound, it’s warm with bright overtones and great sustain. The walnut stave has a classic walnut sound, also warm but darker in tone with lower undertones and a shorter sustain. What separates them from ply snares is the stave shell is very dense with a thick re-ring resulting in enhancing all the characteristics of the drum. They’re louder, sharper, beefier and more robust and heavier.
