I am offering a Gibson Modern Double Cut Custom from 2017, a made in the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), luxury double-cut solidbody model limited to only 25 instruments (!) with solid mahogany body (3.9kg total weight!), spectacularly figured “AAA” Quilted Maple top, set-in 1-piece mahogany neck with long neck tenon, swept neck heel and medium “C” neck profile, bound Richlite fingerboard with bold mother-of-pearl block inlays, two punchy-hot Gibson '57 Classic / Classic Plus humbucker pickups, elaborate Apex headstock construction, high-quality Grover kidney button gold tuners and Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar in a beautiful DC Rust nitrocellulose high-gloss finish with seven-ply white bindings and noble gold hardware in excellent condition including black Gibson luxury hardshell case, all manufacturer's documents and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.
This Gibson Modern Double Cut Custom from 2017/18, limited to a total of 125 instruments (only 25 of which are in DC Rust color), is the modern evolution of the Les Paul from the US Custom Shop. As the Custom upgrade version with the “Tuxedo” look, it is equipped with just about every luxury feature that Gibson has to offer.
Accordingly, the guitar guitar comes with a non weight-relieved solid mahogany body, which also thanks to the double cutaway weighs in at only 3.9kg, providing excellent handling without compromising on a full, powerful sound. The mahogany neck, glued deep into the body, with an ergonomically lowered neck heel, favors efficient sound transmission with creamy sustain and easy access to the highest registers. In addition, the headstock is reinforced with a stylish volute (apex headstock), which significantly reduces the risk of headstock breakage.
But it is the three-dimensional grained quilted maple top in “AAA” quality, which is sublimely showcased under the semi-transparent, limited edition DC Rust finish, that makes the Modern DC Custom look so unique. Custom features such as the dark richlite fretboard with fat MOP block inlays and the 7-ply black/white body bindings complement the high-quality appearance of the instrument.
At the amp two Gibson '57 Classic / Classic Plus humbuckers deliver melodious, singing qualities with a warm, powerful character and an extremely dynamic sound. Both the bridge pickup with plenty of clarity and the balanced, detailed midrange, as well as the full-bodied neck pickup, ensure a lively, versatile tone.
A sound example of the slimmed-down Modern DC Standard model (in a different color) can be found at above at the end of the photo gallery.
