More versatile long scale EB-3L!

The EB-3 features a short scale and Gibson's traditional SG-shaped double cutaway body.
The specifications were changed several times from its introduction in 1961 to the end of production in 1979.

Compared to the EB-3 which had a short scale of 30 inches, this machine EB-3L has a long scale of 34 inches.
The EB-3L is a model that was only manufactured for a short period of time from 1969 to 1972, and this machine is from the period when it had a mahogany body, maple neck, and front pickup was mounted closer to the bridge.

In addition to 2 volumes/2 tones, the controls include a 4-position rotary selector called a Varitone switch.
1. Front PU boomy tone / 2. Rear PU / 3. Mix / 4. Front PU normal tone.

Unlike the regular EB-3, the longer scale creates stronger string tension, resulting in a sound with a clearer outline and pitch.
Also, the front pickup, which used to be in contact with the neck end, has been moved closer to the bridge, which reduces the bass boominess and gives the overall sound a cleaner feel.

For those looking for the unique boomy sound of the EB-3, the short scale may be more suitable, but for those who like the string tension of a long scale or want a powerful bass, but want a sound with a clearer sense of pitch, the EB-3L is highly recommended!
