These deep-drawn transformer cans are annealed steel, for optimum shielding. They have a footprint (opening) of 4.25” x 5.00”, and they stand 4.25” tall. The steel is 0.035” thick. Being deep-drawn, the wall thickness may vary from place to place on the can, and from can to can, but not by much.

These are ideal for casting transformers into, to provide both an attractive look, and to shield the items around the transformer from its field. For proper shielding, the can itself MUST be grounded. We recommend soldering a ground wire to the inside wall of the can before potting the transformer into it. The ground wire should be soldered to a proper electrical ground for optimal shielding.

These cans are new. We purchased a few cases of these from Hudson Tool and Die for a short run of products we made for a client in the 1980s. The remainders have been stored ever since.

The sale is for single units, so if you want multiple units, you have to select the quantity you want.
