A bit of a back story. I had 2 crappy guitars in 2004 when I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer, with a 5-year life expectancy of only 7%--yikes! To keep myself sane while going through 2+ years of chemo and surgeries, I bought guitars--over 200 of them! I wasn't going to live anyway, so why not enjoy some amazing guitars?

Well here it is 17 years later and I'm alive and well, and retired from my professional career. I don't play any more and spend most of my time and money supporting cancer patient and research advocacy so that other cancer patients might have the same positive outcome I've had.

That's where you come in. Traveling to various cancer meetings and conferences (when we can travel again!) is not cheap. I need to unlock the money I have in these guitars so I can help other cancer patients. And I will donate 5% of the selling price (yes, it should be from the profits but I'm selling most of my guitars below cost so there is no profit--just lots of money spent) to Fight Colorectal Cancer, a non-profit advocacy organization that helps other colorectal cancer patients and survivors.

So you can do good to support cancer patients and research, and get a great guitar!

Note that I sell my guitars at VERY GOOD retail prices based on what I paid for them 10-15 years ago. If you think you're a guitar dealer and want to pay wholesale prices, my guitars are probably not for you...but players will be very happy!

This is an LP style guitar built by Alan Kenyon in Gallatin TN. He started Barbara Guitars (named after his mother) as a boutique guitar builder in 2001 and sells mainly to studio musicians and performing musicians (and, as it happens, to me, in 2010). According to Alan this guitar originally sold for $1600 (seems reasonable for a made in the US LP-style guitar).

This guitar is pretty typical LP style, with a rosewood fretboard on maple neck, chrome hardware, "Bad Mune" pickups (as indicated by Alan, and probably 2008), and solid ebony pickguard (with "B" logo) and was used as a company demo so has some minor scratches and scuff marks. As you can see from the photos it's a "black beauty" with white bindings. Also you can see it comes with a nice soft Breedlove gig bag. The plastic coverings are still on the metal pieces on the back of the guitar! The last photo shows a minor separation of the binding, and I also noticed one of the trussrod cover screw heads seems to have broken off (with the rest of the screw in the hole) but nothing that effects the sound or playability of the guitar, and with no discernable fretwear, there are many many years of play left.

I've been buying (mostly) and selling guitars for a number of years and have over 400 positive feedback ratings on eBay with NO negatives (see Lee2tall). Also, I've sold over 50 guitars and shipped successfully to Australia and New Zealand. I'll ship internationally after payment clears, but the shipping rates have really gone up so I need to charge accordingly (if it costs less I'll refund the difference less the cost for insurance which I have privately for my collection).

Return and refund (less shipping) if I have not described the guitar accurately (or based on Reverb rules, if you just don't like it!)
