Yamaha Bbn5a Nathan east bass

For sale is the Yamaha BB-N5A 5 String bass in overall good condition.  

Early 00’ built .  This is the step down version of Nathan East’s BB-NE1 , the difference are the fancy flame top, ebony fingerboard, and abalon inlay.  Other than that, the specs are identical.

• Alder body (I’m actually not totally sure, does anybody know?)

• Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard

• Teal green finish (or torquise?)

• 34” scale length , 24 frets

• 18mm string spacing

• Dual hum cancelling soapbar pickups

• Active electronic Vol / Pan / High(cut/boost) / Mid switch (3 way) / Low(cut/boost)

• 9.5lbs on bathroom scale

• Comes with generic gigbag

Special feature is the mid control.  It’s a 3 way switch knob, flat, EQ1 (Mid cut, the mid frequency can be adjusted in the control cavity), and EQ2 (Mid cut or boost, sweepable frequency).   You basically find the happy mid frequency you like and make it your preset. Process may take a little time experimenting , but it’s very efficient once set.  

A few ding and dents on the body, head stock, and some scratch marks on the body, some oxidation in the hardwares but nothing major, and that’s the proof that this bass has been well played, it was never abused.  Top Japanese craftmanship, and sonically versatile for any style.
