Up for sale is a set of 5 6N4-J tubes. 6N4 is the Chinese military's designation for the 12AX7/ECC83 tube. Many tube amps from the late 80s and early 90s were designed around these tubes (including Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Bogner, Lee Jackson, Mike Morin and Soldano).
All tubes are tested for current draw, shorts and grid leaks.
The 6N4-J is a military grade tube (the "J" connotes JunDui, which is Chinese for "army"). 6N4-Js are the highest grade Chinese tubes made. These were produced from the '70s to early '90s, and are a high gain tube that is very musical and warm sounding. They are nothing like the current production 12AX7 tubes that are made in China today. The 6N4 has a triple mica spacer on top of the plate structure and a square waffle-like getter which distinguish these sought-after tubes.
