 Waldorf M is a (8-voice stock, expandable) polyphonic, 4-part multitimbral wavetable desktop synthesizer. It combines crunchy, 8-bit digital wavetable oscillators—reimagining the 1989 Microwave—with a modern analog 24 dB/octave SSI 2144 ladder lowpass filter and true stereo analog VCA, delivering hybrid sound in a compact metal chassis. 

Key Features & Capabilities:

• Oscillators: Features two independent wavetable oscillators with two modes: Classic (16-bit, 8-bit reduced, 240 kHz non-anti-aliased, mimicking Microwave I) and Modern (40 kHz, hard sync, ring modulation, mimicking Microwave II/XT).
• Analog Path: Includes a 24 dB/octave Analog Low Pass Filter (SSI 2144) with resonance and saturation, plus a true analog stereo VCA for each voice.
• Modulation & FX: Provides two LFOs with different waveforms and four programmable envelopes (Filter, VCA, and two assignable Wave/Free envelopes). Includes an advanced arpeggiator with 16 preset patterns.
• Connectivity & Storage: Includes a USB 2.0 port, 5-pin MIDI In/Out/Thru, SD card slot for patching/wavetables, and a stereo headphone out. Features 5 stereo analog outputs (Main + AUX A, B, C, D).
• Presets: Comes with 2048 sound programs (16 banks of 128).

The M is designed as a direct, knob-per-function style interface that favors manual control over a touchscreen, paying tribute to the original Microwave's workflow.
