G&L Guitars and Basses

G&L was was founded by guitar design pioneer Leo Fender in collaboration with former Fender execs George Fullerton and Dale Hyatt in 1979. With the launch of the new brand, Fender sought to expand on much of his earlier work with improvements to pickups, bridges and construction techniques in general. In doing so, G&L models like the ASAT, Comanche, and L-2000 bass offered (and continue to offer) a modern, consistent playing experience with widely enhanced tonal options. Through the '80s and '90s, G&L picked up its share of devotees in the rock, blues and country worlds, and more recently introduced the lower-end Tribute series which includes more affordable takes on their model lineup.
