Managed to snag New Old Stock (NOS) from a partner shop. Only 5 to go around. Cornerstone Music Gear Antique V2, the Classic Drive. Discontinued in 2023 and succeeded by the Antique V3, so this is a chance at the original brown-enclosure version.Cornerstone's take on the classic screamer-style overdrive, voiced deliberately toward bluesy, mid-forward trio tones rather than copying anything. It is not a clone: the family resemblance is there, but the tone stack goes considerably further than the pedals that inspired it.Gain and Volume behave as you would expect. The interesting part is everything around them:Tone. Manages the low-mid frequency content.Presence. Shapes the high-mids and the top end, giving the pedal an openness that the classic circuit never had.Mids cut toggle. Up gives you the traditional mid-hump; down scoops it back out, which turns the pedal into a very different animal in front of an already-driven amp.Comp switch. Sets the overall dynamic response, from loose and touch-sensitive to tighter and more even.Between the Presence control and the mids toggle there is far more tonal ground here than a standard screamer covers, which is exactly why the Antique built the following it did before Cornerstone retired it.Runs on a standard 9V DC centre-negative supply.
