Here for sale we have a D'Angelico Excel EX-59 Standard Hollow Body Electric Guitar in Solid Black finish. Made in Korea in 2016, this guitar consists of a Laminated Maple body, a Maple neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a D'Angelico Stairstep tailpiece, Grover tuners, a Rosewood bridge, and a set of D'Angelico P90 pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone, and a three-way pickup selector. 

The Maple neck plays fantastically well, with a moderately-sized profile which might be described as a 'C' shape thanks to the slightly flattened area to the centre. This provides a comfortable place for the thumb to rest while playing, perfect for reaching those tricky chord voicings and breezing through smooth lead lines and solos. The gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5” scale whilst the Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and with the block mother of pearl inlays adds the ‘Luxury’ appeal these guitars are known for.  

The voice of the instrument is open and airy thanks to its hollow body construction. The body resonates beautifully, and provides a wide dynamic range that feels sensitive to the player's touch. The P-90 pickups installed provide an excellent platform for sculpting your sound. Crystal clear tones can be dialled in easily, whilst the pickups have plenty of output for crunchy sounds too. The controls are very responsive, allowing you to roll down the tone pot for those dark, mellow jazz lead lines. A well made and incredibly versatile jazzer.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles.

Neck: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. These cannot be felt by the hand in playing position or beneath the strings.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. A small area of delamination is apparent to the binding at the cutaway's rear face.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Very light denting is present to the early register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Light scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the tailpiece and tuners.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
