Now available on consignment, a 2024 Benson Monarch Reverb amplifier.
This amp is a fine example of a well revered model from the Benson workshop of Portland Oregon, a tidy little combo amp based more or less on a Fender Tweed Deluxe.
Laid out simply, this amp features a volume knob, a tone knob, and a reverb knob. The only other controls are an “American/British” switch, which makes a slightly Vox-ier sound come out of the Weber custom Benson speaker.
The amp is powered by a 5AR4 rectifier tube, two 6L6’s, two 12AX7’s, and one 12DW7, producing 15 watts RMS. The tone produced by this circuit is clean and quite bright, easy to set up, and very reliable.
Cosmetically this example is virtually untouched, no marking, scuffing or tearing of the Tolex, and no tearing or sagging of the grille cloth, as is to be expected of a two year old amp. This is also an American 110DC voltage model, but with an Australian plug, so a step down is needed.
Comes with original Benson cardboard box.
