It's more or less the amp that started it all, really. The first Marshall amps were modded 1959 Bassmen, and so many amps that followed continued to build on that same foundation. This is an American Vintage series amp, so it's built with care and reverence for the original design. THe solid pine cabinet and Jensen speakers get the best out of the circuit; the thing sounds lush. It's fat, punchy and full. with amazing balance and articulation and a great mix of dynamic response and pleasing natural compression. Very good stuff.
