Hofner 500/5 President Bass 1961 - Sunburst

Here's a 1961 Hofner 500/5 President Bass in Sunburst finish. All original example that plays and sounds great! These do not pop up often, and they were made in very low quantities. Truss rod and electronics are all in proper working condition. Has rare type Hofner pickups, that were not produced in large numbers. A Hofner bass equipped with Type 3 pickups is fairly rare, sometimes referred to as “cavern pickups” as Paul’s 1961 bass was exactly spaced. Lower output pickups that absolutely deliver the classic Hofner (Beatles) sound! Plastic Hofner badge on head stock. Action and sound are superb. Comes setup with a new set of Hofner flat wound strings. Truly a preserved blast from the past back beat era. Original Selmer case included!
