A fully-loaded MusicYo era Steinberger GM-7TA in clear amber over a quilted maple top, with a Moses graphite neck.
The M-series brought the Steinberger system to a conventional body shape — the design originated with Mike Rutherford of Genesis and was built by English luthier Roger Giffin, the first Steinberger to come from outside the company. It was aimed at players who wanted the headless engineering without the all-composite body, and it worked: the M became the company’s broadest-appeal instrument.
Version 2 TransTrem. Not just a vibrato — a transposing tremolo. Bend the arm and every string moves in perfect relative pitch, so chords stay chords instead of collapsing into dissonance. Lock the arm into a calibrated detent and the whole instrument shifts key while staying in tune with itself.
EMG 89/SA/89 with global coil split. The 89 is a split-coil design — a full humbucker in one mode, a single-coil in the other. With one in each outer position and an SA in the middle, the dedicated split switch drops both 89s to their single-coil sides at once, turning the guitar from H/S/H into a functional S/S/S. Two complete instruments in one, and no compromise version of either: the humbucker mode is a real humbucker, and the split mode is the actual SA single-coil voice rather than a thinned-out approximation.
Active HAZ tone circuit. Wide-range treble and bass boost and cut, well beyond what a passive tone control offers — enough to reshape the guitar’s voice without touching the amp.
Condition: Excellent. Wear is limited to some tooling marks on the bridge and a ~2 mm dent in the lacquer above the bridge pickup that has been spot filled.
Included:
- New HeadlessUSA gig bag
- New HeadlessUSA strap
- Set of calibrated double-ball end strings
- Original TransTrem v2 trem arm
Note on strings: the TransTrem requires calibrated double-ball sets, and we stock them — the transposing function depends on the string gauges being matched to the system.
