Based on its serial number, this specific unit is a rare early-production model manufactured around the mid-1980s.

It features the rich, dense resonance characteristic of the Custom models of that era—qualities not found in current Yamaha lineups—along with the powerful, dark sound typical of a large-bore trombone. It excels across a wide range of genres, particularly in classical settings such as orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber groups.
