For sale is a phenomenal example of a 1965 Fender Deluxe "non-reverb" head . If you're searching for that iconic, articulate, and three-dimensional clean tone that defined a generation of music, this is it. Amp delivers the legendary Blackface sparkle and warmth with incredible headroom, making it one of the ultimate pedal platforms. At 22 watts, it's the perfect volume for both stage and studio, capable of staying clean at loud volumes or breaking into rich, musical overdrive when pushed.
Condition: This Deluxe is in excellent vintage condition. The original tolex and 'modern' grill cloth are in remarkable shape for their age, with only minor signs of wear that add to its authentic character. The faceplate is clean, vibrant, and free of any major scratches. Functionally, both channels work perfectly, the controls are responsive, and it sounds absolutely fantastic. It has been meticulously cared for and it shows.
Professional and Thoughtful Service: This Deluxe has been professionally serviced with a focus on safety and reliability while preserving as much of the original circuit and tone as possible. The goal was to make it gig-ready for years to come, without changing parts unnecessarily.
The following essential service has been completed:
- Power Supply & Bias Recap and Resistors: All filter capacitors and their Resistors (in the doghouse) have been replaced. The critical bias supply capacitor and their Resistors was upgraded. This is a non-negotiable service for any vintage Fender, ensuring quiet, hum-free operation and stable performance.
- Grounded for Safety: The original two-prong power cord has been replaced with a modern, heavy-duty three-prong grounded cord for safe operation.
- Replaced Screen and Grid Resistors 6V6GT's: Part of the Bias of the amp for proper performance.
- Fixed and repaired Tremolo effect: Added Adjustable Bias to help keep the 6L6gc's from making noise. I have it set for the way I like it but you can change that.
- Cleaned and lubicated all Pots and Jacks: Deoxit and cleaned.
- Tubes: Amperex GZ34, GE 6V6GT's, and various USA 12AX7's and a Mullard 12AT7. All vintage tubes.
- Speaker: Original 1965 Oxford 12L6N. Speaker cabel is original fender as well.
All other circuit components, including other iconic parts are original to the amp and are functioning perfectly. The original transformers, the heart and soul of the amp's tone, are intact.
Other Notes:
- Grill cloth is newer and has been replaced.
- Cabinet is made of Plywood and has a date code stamp of 1965. See pictures.
- Fuse Holder was replaced.
- Will need a shorting plug or a footswitch to turn on Tremolo.
- Chassis# 'A 02941'
