Mid 1970s Conrad 5 string banjo.
All original except for bridge, strings and possibly head. Original frets show almost no wear. Clamshell tailpiece. Multi-ply maple rim with brass flathead tone ring. Maple neck and resonator. Dark Rosewood fretboard. Sliding 5th string capo. Geared 5th string tuner. Banjo weighs in at about 11 pounds, 12 ounces. Very good to excellent overall condition except for slight scuffing at the 4 o'clock position on the front facing edge of resonator.
Lined 5 latch hardshell case also appears to be original in very good condition.
Have been informed by previous owner that banjo was made in Japan as perhaps a "stencil" brand possibly manufactured by Alvarez or equivalent at the time of manufacture.
