About This Listing

Howdy Reverb People: WOW! Does it get any cleaner, meaner or pristine-er than this early 1970s Ampeg SVT Black Line head, which includes a Calzone case? Nope. It's teamed up with a 1980s cabinet, which has much better resonance and tone than the modern SVT cabinets of today.

The former house bass amp of Kingsize Sound Labs (Wilco, Neko Case, Disney's "Prom") is now for sale, with local pickup in Chicago preferred ... though shipping possible if you want to pay the freight. Please ask: I WILL SHIP, BUT WILL HAVE TO ESTIMATE THE COST.

The head has recently been serviced from top to bottom by Pat McKeever of Chicago Amp Works (who is also a bassist) and it sounds amazing. Ditto for the cabinet, which is thankfully on wheels! Is there any way to describe how amazing and huge this amp sounds? They don't call it heavy for nothin'.

On eBay, which I don't like to use anymore due to its high fees, I've racked up 100 percent positive feedback over more than a decade of buying and selling. Buy with confidence. Ask any questions you like. Thanks for looking. Buyers outside the U.S. and Canada will need to jump through a few hoops to make sure you're honest and fair.

All the best,
