We bought several Special II's brand new and proceeded to gut electronics and hardware.
After the necks(bolt-on mahogany) were separated from the body(mahogany), by hand we reamed all tuner and potentiometer holes for new tuners and USA CTS pots. The harness's are hand wired. We gave each of them a custom one of a kind hand finish and design. The plastic nuts were replaced with Graph Tech Tusq nut. The result is a guitar that looks as good as it sounds. We liked them so much we knew we should share. This guitar sings with tone and sustain from Classic Rock to Down and Dirty Blues. Rosewood fret board treated with Dunlop 65 Lemon oil. Guitar has been set-up and intonation.
