About 5 or 6 years ago I researched a cutaway acoustic electric guitar
to keep at my vacation home, which I visit maybe 10 times per year,
usually a weekend here and there. I wanted to spend $500 or less,
wanted a quality instrument, that could be plugged in if I wanted, and a
nice hard-sided case to keep it in. My research brought me to the
Washburn Augusta series, a gorgeous maple backed and sided instrument
that has amazing tone and clarity, and is beautiful to look at. This
guitar retailed for over $1,000, and I was able to meet my budget by
finding a good deal. Since new, it has hardly been played, has been
faithfully stored in its original case, and has been humidified as the
seasons have changed here in the midwest. This is your opportunity to
pick up a used electric cutaway for a very cheap price that I would put
against any $1,000 guitar on the market. Plus, this one is appointed
beyond belief; gorgeous maple woods, very nice solid spruce top, check
out the inlays on the headstock(!), Grover tuners (!) and the fit and
finish is just superb. The tone is bright and clear, and again, rivals
any guitar made, in my opinion, in the $1,000 price range. The
electrics are also top-notch and work flawlessly. I have thought about
selling it for a long time, as I have too many guitars, but keep
changing my mind. If I take the listing off it is because of seller's
remorse.
