Sandberg Basic 4 bass Brownburst Active/Passive Humbucker Awesome!

This bass is amazing; only selling because I have found I'm really an all-passive kind of guy with guitars and basses.

If you don't know Sandberg, I'm not sure how to describe them - they have their Fender style basses and they have their original styles, and they're all just incredible in workmanship, fit and finish.   This Basic 4 is only basic in the fact that it has a single MM-style humbucker going on - this one is an original design, made in Germany (They now also offer an Asian-made budget line, but this is one of the 'real deals').  The photos don't do the Brownburst finish justice - it's a deep, dark sunburst with the barest satin sheen to it, really plays nicely with the grain of the ash body.

The bass plays "like butta", with really low action and a fast neck.  The strings are a little dead, and I would put a new set on if I knew exactly what everyone would like on it!  The volume knob pulls out for a passive version of the tone with everything wide open, but with the knob pushed in it activates the 3-band preamp (knobs are V, T, M, B from neck-side to bridge-side) which offers cut and boost in a wide swing for all three bands.

I've only listed this as Excellent rather than Mint, because there is a spot on the butt end of the bass (which I tried to capture in the photo) where I set it down for a minute on a rough surface, which put a couple tiny pits in the wood and a scuff on the strap button.   Also note: any cloudiness appearing on the pickguard in photos is only because the pickguard still has the protective plastic on it!

Also note that the standard strap buttons on these work with Schaller strap locks!  I didn't know that ahead of time, and found it quite useful!

Includes a Sandberg branded gigbag made by Canto, and the truss and bridge wrenches.   And since I mentioned above how the strings are losing some of their zing, I'll buy a set of whatever you like and throw them in the gigbag too.
