Launched in 2021, the G-00 is a modern interpretation of the classic L-00 "saloon-style" guitar from the 1930s. Its most notable feature is the “Player Port”, a second soundhole on the side of the body based on a 1964 blueprint found in Gibson’s archives, designed to let the player hear the guitar as the audience does. The model was designed to be an accessible, American-made alternative to higher-end models, utilizing sustainable Walnut instead of Mahogany for the back and sides. Unlike many modern acoustics, the G-00 is a "pure" acoustic with no electronics installed from the factory, emphasizing natural resonance and portability. The "Demo" engraving on the back of the headstock indicates this guitar was destined for artist demonstration / promotional purposes.
