You're looking at a 1962 Fender Jaguar in a refinished 3-tone sunburst finish - professionally refinished in nitrocellulose lacquer. 1962 was the first year of Jaguar production, making this one of the earliest examples of Fender's flagship offset from the golden era. This one is player-grade and has parts changed, but all the important bits are here - original finish on the back of the neck, and original 1962 flat-pole Jaguar pickups. Most importantly, it sounds, plays, and feels incredible. It's one of the most resonant guitars I've ever played and that carries through to the amp. It's definitely got that something special that early 60s Fenders typically have, but at a fraction of the price. The back of the neck was never touched and still has its original finish and decades of honest player wear - it feels incredible, with a nice full profile. The date stamp on the neck reads 1MAY62B. The front of the headstock was oversprayed as part of the refin, but it retains its original decals. Original pickups, pickguard, and hardware are all still here, with a few exceptions: the bridge has been swapped for a Mastery bridge (a hugely worthwhile upgrade for playability and tuning stability on these), and the tuners have been swapped for late-60s F-style units. The frets are likely not original as they're in great shape considering the wear on the rest of the guitar. The pots and wiring are replacements as well.Weighing in at 7lbs 15oz, this Jaguar has a super comfortable neck feel - clay dot inlays on a beautifully dark rosewood veneer fretboard. It plays and sounds like a proper vintage Jaguar should.It's in good condition overall. The main issue is a 1" crack in the back of the headstock - it's stable, doesn't affect functionality in any way, and has been that way for a long time, but wanted to call it out clearly (see pics). One other thing to note - some of the contours around the horns were sanded a bit aggressively, presumably when removing the original finish. Still looks good overall, but worth noting that a few contours aren't quite as perfectly tapered. I tried to capture that in the last pics in the gallery. Lastly, the last fretboard inlay has been replaced at some point and does not match the original clay dots. Comes with a vintage hardshell case - not original to the guitar or era-correct, but a nice period-appropriate case nonetheless (I'm not certain of its exact year).The guitar will be very well packed and quickly shipped via UPS with tracking and insurance included.
