Vintage Beverley marching and bass drum shells are primarily made of birch or African mahogany, featuring beech reinforcement rings. Because Premier Percussion acquired Beverley in 1958, all Beverley wood shells from the 1960s and 1970s were manufactured directly in the Premier factory in Leicester, UK. They used the exact same wood stock and shell formulas as Premier's own high-end lines

The Core Shell: Most vintage Beverley wood drums feature a thin 3-ply construction. Depending on the specific year or production run, these plies consist of either solid Birch or African Mahogany. Reinforcement Rings: Inside the top and bottom edges of the shell, solid or multi-ply Beech reinforcement hoops (re-rings) were glued in to provide structural support and keep the thin shells perfectly round.
