Digidesign Control 24 Pro Tools Control Surface 16 Focusrite Pres + Looms + MIDI - Fully Working

Digidesign Control|24 control surface, in good working order and fully tested, from a professional studio. Video available showing the unit powered up and working.

Please note this is a control surface with 16 Focusrite Class A mic preamps and a full monitor section. It is not an audio interface and has no converters of its own.

Compatibility

Works directly, with no additional software, on Pro Tools 10.3.x (up to 10.3.10) under Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion or Windows 7. This unit has been tested in exactly that configuration, on Pro Tools HD 10.3.x on an older Mac.

For modern systems, Neyrinck's V-Control Pro brings the Control|24 back into current Pro Tools and also opens it up to Logic Pro, Cubase, Nuendo and Studio One, which it never supported natively. It runs on the DAW computer over Ethernet and Apple Silicon Macs are natively supported. A perpetual Standard licence is around $199 and there is a free trial. Details at neyrinck.com.

What has been tested

• All 24 motorised faders working smoothly, tested in banking and in automation playback. The video shows the full fader bank moving in a smooth wave.
• All 16 Focusrite Class A mic preamps tested and working.
• Monitor section functioning correctly. The video includes a mix played out to headphones, then switched to the main outputs, with both audible in the room.
• All LCD displays functioning.
• Counter working correctly.
• Honest note: the headphone output is slightly noisy. It works, but I would rather you knew that up front than found it yourself.

• 3 x DB25 to balanced jack 8-way looms: main monitor, Pro Tools in 1-8, and Pro Tools in 9-16 (the latter two carrying the mic preamp or line outputs)
• 2 x DB25 to DB25 looms for connecting the Pro Tools interface to the Control|24

• Bonus: a Digidesign MIDI I/O, which also works with Pro Tools 10.3.x

The looms alone represent a significant part of the practical value here. DB25 connectivity is the usual sticking point with these units, and this one arrives ready to plug in. All cables and extras come boxed in a plastic storage box.

Collection and delivery

This is a large item, approximately 1.2m wide and heavy (>35Kg), so please come with suitable transport - it will not fit in a small car.

Collection welcome from CV37 (Stratford-upon-Avon). I will deliver within a 50-mile radius of CV37 for £50. I will not post it.

This is part of a clear-out of unused and duplicated equipment as I refit the studio. It comes from a working, smoke-free professional studio and has been well looked after - happy to answer any questions or send extra photos, and the video is available on request.
