Shepherd Guitars Ditchling Hollow (Variant) 2026 - Single Humbucker - UK handmade electric guitar - one off

A handmade, one-off semi-hollow electric guitar for £599. The Ditchling Hollow Variant combines genuine Shepherd craftsmanship with a simpler selection of hardware and electronics to offer something a little more accessible than my main range. Its chambered construction gives it a lively, resonant character, while the single pickup and stripped-back controls keep things wonderfully direct. Built entirely by hand in Sussex, it's an individual instrument with all the character you'd expect from a Shepherd.

I have used perfectly serviceable hardware, electronics and pickups from earlier Shepherd prototypes rather than the usual quality I place on my builds. This means you're getting a UK handmade guitar for a fraction of the price of one my custom builds.

Body - Cherry 2 piece core, with Korina (white limba) reconstruction at the neck pocket (see pictures). Purple heart top and back. Top has my signature 3 sound holes. Rear has control cavity cover in Purple heart held with magnets (note - there is a visible magnet which came through during carving, see pictures)

Neck - 3 piece, African Mahogany (Khaya) with Wenge laminate. Purple heart fretboard with maple dot inlays markers. Copper rod side dot markers. 25.5in scale length. 12in radius. Bone nut.

Frets - 24 nickel/silver medium.

Pickups - Zebra (Cream/Black) humbucker - no brand

Hardware - no brand black in line locking tuners. No brand tunomatic style bridge and tailpiece in black. All hardware has been "distressed".

Electronics - 250k volume pot, 500k tone pot with 0.022 cap., mono output jack

Knobs - "distressed" black metal push on knobs.

Will come in a hard foam case (gear4music).
